Beyoğlu Eye Training and Research Hospital Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic is one of the units providing services to protect our patients' mental health, support them against the psychological effects brought by processes related to vision health, and support mental well-being during treatment processes. The chronic nature of eye health problems or surgical intervention processes can sometimes trigger anxiety and stress factors in our patients; our clinic aims to increase our patients' compliance with treatment and their quality of life by offering professional support during these processes.
In our outpatient clinic; diagnosis and treatment services are carried out in areas such as generalized anxiety disorder, depression, adjustment disorders, stress/anxiety management experienced during pre-operative processes, and psychologically rooted vision complaints (somatoform disorders).
Particularly in eye diseases that require chronic follow-up (glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, etc.) or operational processes, a "multidisciplinary" working discipline is adopted in coordination with our ophthalmology specialists in order to increase patient comfort and minimize anxiety levels. Clinical evaluations are taken as a basis during the diagnosis stage; individualized psychotherapeutic approaches and, when necessary, pharmacological treatments are applied along with scientific protocols.
